TGIF

Yay! It's Friday! Hello Friday! The image above is so accurate.

I have been laid up with sinus issues all week so I'm happy to be back to my normal self this morning. Mother Nature decided to get hype and start blooming all kinds of pollen which led to a sore throat that turned into major sinus issues which turned into an ear and sinus infection for yours truly. Thank goodness for antibiotics and a great doctor who has me all straightened out. I returned to work this morning able to hear out of my left ear again and pain-free. There was NO WAY I was going to be on the sick and shut-in list with this fabulous weekend I have planned ahead.

Friday
Mani-Pedi time! I am long overdue for a mani-pedi so I am hitting up the nailshop this evening when I get home. I need some quality Me Time and this is my spot. We typically do date night with the little guy on Fridays so we'll probably end up out to dinner or watching a movie.

Saturday
Weather-permitting, the little guy will have a soccer game at 9:00 am (ugh!) so I will be cheering Team Brasil on from the sidelines while Hubs helps coach. Afterwards, we will go run some errands and grab some lunch before I go home to ready for my sorority slumber party. My line is celebrating our 10th AKAversary next month and we are getting together for a mini slumber party to kick things off. I.cant.wait! This is going to be so much fun! I haven't seen many of my line sisters in years since we are all spreadout (though we keep up via FB, phone and email) so I can't wait to spend the night hanging with them.  I'm about 101% sure we will NOT sleep that night so Sunday is going to be rough. It will be just like old times.

Sunday
After the slumber, we are having brunch and then I have to hightail it home to meet Lisa so that I can do/consult on her natural hair. Hopefully I will be unpacked, dinner cooked and everything ready for the next week by the time the season finale of The Walking Dead comes on.

I will be on the move the entire weekend but I'm looking forward it. I can't wait to enjoy some time with the girls and reconnect. It's been a long time coming. I hate I'm going to be away from my guys but they can use some guy time too. Besides, my little brother is home from college for the weekend so I'm pretty sure he will be hanging out with them.

What do you have planned for the weekend?

Happy First Day of Spring

It's here! It's here! Spring is officially here today! Now, can the weather warm up and stay that way? Over on FB, I posted the question: My favorite thing about spring is.....

Here are my responses:
  • Spring cleaning! Decluttering the house.
  • Working out outside. I'm much more motivated that way
  • Vacation time!
  • Spring Fashion. What will my color of the season be?
  • Shedding some weight! I put on way too much weight this winter. I'm ready to drop this stuff and hopefully keep it off.
  • Improved mood. The winter makes me feel all depressed and blah. The sunshine can do wonders for mood improve.
What's your favorite thing about spring?

Trip Advisor 2014

Spring is upon us and its time to start planning trips for the year! I love family vacations and girls
trips, but unfortunately I don't have any girls trips planned for this year. Cabo has been put on hold until 2015 but that's ok. The girls and I will probably do Cabo and a second time in Vegas next year

*going back down memory lane about our girls Vegas trip....*

Anyway, the Hubs and I sat the other night and started planning and booking our trips for this year. He has several business related trips that he will be doing this year, with the first one up next month to Florida. Must make a mental note to make sure he has booked the rooms there for him and the guys.

In May, he and I are finally going on our honeymoon to Philly for the 7th Annual Roots Picnic (we are so non-traditional LOL) for two days and then we head up to NYC for 3 days of shopping and sightseeing. Can you believe my poor husband has never been to NYC? I hope he can handle the city.

He and I are attending a conference mid-summer and are then planning a beach getaway to a undisclosed location (I'm not saying where at the moment) with the little guy.

In October, we are heading south before winter for 5 days of fun in the sun and then heading west to Mississippi to spend Thanksgiving with my in-laws. I'm really excited about that trip because my parents are coming with us. I am so grateful and blessed that our parents have gotten along well for the 7 years we've all been together. Its a HUGE blessing.

Do you have any trips planned for 2014?

TGIF

Friday, oh Friday, how I never thought I would see you. Y'all, this week has been rough. I mean, rough. Work has kicked my butt, my son has being acting like some kid I don't even know, my husband has been working crazy hours and I feel all kinds of off. I just want to crawl under a rock and hang out there for a few days while I watch the world go by.

I wish I could say that I was planning a nice quiet weekend at home but my weekends of doing nothing are on hold indefinitely now that spring is here. My son's soccer season kicks off tomorrow and guess who has become the unofficial yet official team mom? This chick. I could have sworn I said I wasn't going to go down this road again but I'm back at it. Sheesh. Anyway, I guess I'm officially a....

The snack schedule is done and I'm already working on trophies for the kids at the end of the season, courtesy of my family's medical practice. Saturday will be filled with two parties I RSVP'd for (how did I manage to overbook myself?!) but I HAVE to attend them. Sigh. And Sunday, well, I haven't even gotten that far in my schedule yet so we'll see what happens there....

Happy Friday!

I need a vacation

I am in dire need of a vacation. I need 3 days away from everyone and everything. I don't want a laptop, cable tv, my phone (unless its an emergency) and people. I need for my husband and I to escape for a weekend away from it all so that we can spend some quality time together and unplug.

Once upon a time ago, we used to be able to do that...
